Stone lithography prints

Stone lithography, an alluring medium, demands dedication and patience — the printing stage can delight or despair; hence the reliance on expert printing.

“When the finest nuances of a drawing on stone print faithfully with rich, full tonal range, it is joyous.”

All are original, hand pulled fine prints created with master lithographer, Keith Wiltshire, at his atelier Equinox Printmaking in Chewton.

Ulmus glabra 'Camperdownii' ©

Camperdown Elm was discovered in about 1840 as a young contorted tree in Dundee, Scotland, by the Earl of Camperdown's head forester, David Taylor. The tree was lifted and replanted in the gardens of Camperdown House. Propagation is by grafting a cutting to the trunk of Ulmus glabra. A stand of five trees in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens provided the inspiration for these works https://www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Castlemaine_Botanical_Gardens
The trees are on the National Trust Register of Significant Trees.
